Rangitikei River - Required Licences

The upper or headwaters of the Rangitikei River and its tributaries (north of the Ohinewaione Stream confluence, 9 km upstream of the Springvale Bridge) has been designated as a backcountry fishery.

ALL anglers fishing this headwater will require a backcountry fishing licence in addition to a whole season licence or family fishing licence. The backcountry licence is available at NO extra cost.
