Great start to the season
Only a few weeks into the new trout fishing season and the reports have been good with anglers from across the whole region already tasting success and as a result some nice fish have been caught.
The main river systems in the Wellington, Wairarapa, Palmerston North and Rangitikei areas have all provided fantastic fishing early in the season, and hopefully this continues through the middle parts of the season too.
The last few weeks has seen the arrival of daylight savings and some warmer temperatures so anglers should be making the most of their extra time in the evenings and getting out and enjoying themselves on the rivers by wetting a line.
Weekly fishing reports return
Our weekly fishing report has returned which is sent out on a weekly basis and provides information on what the current river conditions are like, as well a brief weather forecast for the area. This information can also be found on our website.

Jetboats on the Ruamahanga
Jetboating NZ is planning an event on the Ruamahanaga River at Martinborough.
For the purposes of holding the 2011 Jetboating NZ National Rally there will be approximately 30 boats using the section of river from approximately 5km above the Martinborough Road Bridge to 5km below on Saturday, November 5.
River users are advised that the competition events run during the day may create disturbance to some recreational activity. Signs will be placed at several entry/access points to the river near this area.
